Michael B. Clayton graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1988. After becoming licensed in Arkansas, he relocated to California, earning his second license and beginning a legal career rooted in advocacy and local service. For seven years, he practiced at a Santa Maria law firm before opening his own office at the corner of Orange Street and Miller Avenue.

In January 2005, he expanded his practice by opening a second office in Lompoc — a carefully restored 1916 house located beside the courthouse at 410 East Ocean Avenue. Known to many simply as “Mike,” he is respected not only for his legal experience but for his deep ties to the Central Coast community.

A passionate supporter of U.S. veterans, Mr. Clayton hosts an annual Veterans Day BBQ on November 11, offering food and appreciation — free of charge — to local veterans and their families. This tradition reflects the values he brings to every case: service, respect, and unwavering dedication.
